Next James Bond? Pierce Brosnan teases 'someone that none of us know about'
Pierce Brosnan suggests you can rip up your Bond prediction lists, hinting the next James Bond pick could blindside everyone.
In a new interview with The Times, Pierce Brosnan said the search for the next James Bond may not end with a familiar face. He’s been tracking the chatter around 007 but resisted naming any favorite, hinting the producers could surprise everyone with a wild-card pick.
“There are lots of good hats in the ring. Lots of great actors. I see it. I follow it,” Brosnan said. “They could probably just go left-field and pick someone that none of us know about.”
Brosnan, who played Bond across four films from 1995 to 2002, added that he’s content to watch from the sidelines this time. Per the interview, he’s deliberately staying away from endorsing anyone, noting he’s already said more than his wife advised.
On his son, Paris
In a separate conversation with The Sunday Times Magazine, Brosnan addressed the “nepo baby” talk aimed at his 25-year-old son, Paris Brosnan, who’s been stepping toward acting. The elder Brosnan said a last name shouldn’t guarantee a career, and pointed out that Paris has completed a film and shown promise — as long as he keeps training and studying the craft.
Paris has acknowledged the doors that come with his dad’s name while insisting his work has to stand on its own. He first appeared on camera in 2023 alongside his brother Dylan in The Unholy Trinity .
