Cyberpunk 2077 is on a tear—CD Projekt Red’s hit game, a breakout Netflix anime, and a Kickstarter-smashing TCG—and now a new game is jacking in.

Cyberpunk is not slowing down. Between CD Projekt Red's game still pulling players, Netflix 's Edgerunners blowing up, and that Cyberpunk TCG Kickstarter raking it in, Night City is basically a content farm right now. Add one more: a fast, co-op tabletop game spun right out of the Netflix series.

The new thing

It is called 'Cyberpunk: Edgerunners - Hunted,' and it puts you directly in the crew's boots. You play as Lucy, David, Rebecca, and Maine, tag-teaming your abilities to complete missions and escape Night City before the clock kills you. Sessions are quick, about 25 minutes, which feels appropriately frantic for a game about running and gunning through a neon nightmare.

It is up for pre-order now and set to hit stores in September 2026.

How it plays

You build Night City with a starting set of connected tiles, which shapes your routes as you move. At some point an Exit tile enters the map, and the win condition is simple on paper and stressful in practice: finish your mission goals and get all four Edgerunners to that Exit before time runs out.

  • Missions: You draw a Mission Card and knock it out together while navigating the city. Want more pain? Stack on extra difficulty by running up to three missions at once.
  • Real-time timer: There is an hourglass and a time track. When the sand empties, you advance the hourglass marker along the track. Every action matters because that clock does not care about your feelings.
  • Two-phase turns:
    - Edgerunner Phase: Everyone moves and acts, and because the clock is live, you are encouraged to go simultaneously. You still need to talk, plan, and combo abilities to keep from tripping over each other.
    - Enemy Phase: Enemies beeline for the closest Edgerunner and hit if they reach you. Every hit pushes the hourglass marker one space on the time track without flipping or refilling the sand, which is a nasty little twist that steals time you cannot get back.
  • Winning: Complete your mission card or cards and get Lucy, David, Rebecca, and Maine to the Exit Map Tile before the track runs out.
  • Replay value: The city layout is randomized each game, and swapping which Edgerunners you use changes how you approach the run.

Big picture

It is a smart lift from the anime: tight, punchy, and built around teamwork under pressure. The real-time element plus the hourglass penalty on enemy hits is a spicy way to keep everyone sweating. If you are still on an Edgerunners kick, this looks like a fast hit of that vibe between binge sessions. And yes, it is another sign that Cyberpunk's universe is still very much in expansion mode.
