Reality shake-up: The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Jessi Draper was spotted getting cozy with costar Miranda McWhorter’s ex-husband, Chase, at a recent party, according to a source who says it was flirty fun, not something serious.

Welcome to the part of reality TV where the off-camera drama laps the actual show. Over the weekend, The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Jessi Draper got cozy with fellow cast member Miranda McWhorter's ex-husband, Chase McWhorter, at a birthday party. Yes, that timing is exactly as messy as it sounds.

What went down at the party

According to an insider, Jessi, 33, and Chase were having fun and it's not serious. First word of it surfaced Thursday via DeuxMoi, where an eyewitness claimed the two were getting close and later kissed while standing with a smaller circle of people during a weekend birthday bash.

Miranda responds (with receipts)

Shortly after the DeuxMoi chatter, Miranda, 27, posted flowers and an apology card from Jessi on her Instagram Stories. The note itself was straightforward:

"I completely understand you being upset with me. But wanted to send you a little something to let you know I'm thinking about you and I am so so sorry. - Jessi."

Miranda added: "Received the prettiest flowers just minutes ago."

Requests for comment have been sent to Jessi and Chase.

The timing (because of course)

This all landed just days after Jessi's husband, Jordan Ngatikaura, filed for divorce. On March 19 he told Us Weekly:

"I'm grateful for the shared memories and the lessons. While our paths are now moving in different directions, my priority remains my children and ensuring they feel loved, supported, and protected through this transition."

Jessi later said on the Call Her Daddy podcast that she was blindsided and found out about the filing from TMZ. She and Jordan married in 2020 and share two kids, Jagger and Jovey. She also claimed they'd agreed to tell their children together before anything was filed and that learning about it this way felt like "a betrayal."

Where Miranda and Chase are at

Miranda and Chase split in 2024 after seven years of marriage. They co-parent son Brooks and daughter Cohen. Back in September 2024, Chase said they realized they married a little too soon, but things between them are cordial — they still chat around kids' drop-offs and are figuring out how to keep it positive.

Why their names were in the mix last season

Neither Miranda nor Chase appeared on Mormon Wives' first season, but both came up thanks to the Taylor Frankie Paul "soft swinging" saga. Miranda and Chase were part of that friend group with Taylor and her ex Tate Paul, plus another couple. In May 2025 on The Viall Files, Miranda explained she set firm boundaries, told Taylor as much, and that they never set out to be swingers — it was more like they got pulled into situations and lines got crossed.

The web, at a glance

  • Jessi Draper (33): Currently separating from husband Jordan Ngatikaura; they wed in 2020 and share Jagger and Jovey. She says she learned of the divorce filing from TMZ and felt betrayed by the timing.
  • Chase McWhorter: Miranda's ex; they split in 2024 after seven years. Co-parents Brooks and Cohen. Seen getting cozy with Jessi at a weekend birthday party; one source says it's not serious.
  • Miranda McWhorter (27): Posted Jessi's apology note and flowers on Instagram after the party reports surfaced.
  • Context carryover: Miranda and Chase were tied to last season's off-camera swinging chatter involving Taylor Frankie Paul and ex Tate Paul.

Short version: a weekend party kiss, an apology bouquet, a fresh divorce filing, and a whole lot of shared history. Even for this franchise, that's a lot of crossover.
