Michael B. Jordan has weighed in on David Jonsson’s Black Panther 3 casting — whilst his own big projects keep gathering steam.
At the Los Angeles premiere of Spider- Man: Brand New Day , Michael B. Jordan lit up when Entertainment Tonight asked what he thought of David Jonsson joining Black Panther 3 as T’Challa’s grown son — the character Marvel just unveiled at Comic-Con.
“Oh, I love it. It’s amazing! I can’t wait, can’t wait!”
Jordan’s stamp of approval lands with extra weight: he made Erik Killmonger one of the MCU ’s most talked-about villains in the first Black Panther and popped back up for a pivotal cameo in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. He’s also a longtime collaborator of Ryan Coogler, who’s returning to steer the next chapter.

Marvel’s San Diego Comic-Con reveal put Jonsson front and center as the adult son of T’Challa in Coogler’s next Wakanda film — a move that both honors Chadwick Boseman’s legacy and pushes the story in a new direction. The casting quickly became one of the weekend’s biggest MCU talking points, and Jordan’s public enthusiasm only adds to the momentum.

Off the carpet, Jordan’s own calendar is getting crowded. The first poster for his The Thomas Crown Affair remake is out, teasing a sleek heist vibe without fully showing his face — just a razor-sharp tux, gloves, and all the expensive confidence that comes with them. The poster’s tagline — “Revenge is a work of art” — hints at a darker spin, and the movie is dated for March 5, 2027 , in theaters and IMAX. It’s being positioned as one of his biggest directing swings yet.
He’s also backing The Greatest, a Muhammad Ali limited series at Prime Video . The streamer released the first teaser and set the eight-episode run for a fall launch.
