Apple TV is stalking our watchlists with Nocturne, an upcoming serial killer series—curious who, what, and when it targets next?

The hook here isn’t just the bodies—it ’s the trap. In Nocturne, detective Jonah Lynn uproots to a quiet town only to collide with the name he hoped never to hear again: Jurek Walter, a notorious serial killer who’s always a step ahead. When Lynn’s protégé and surrogate daughter, FBI Agent Saga Bauer, slips undercover to pry answers directly from Walter, the case turns into a nerve-fraying game of proximity and trust.

The series pulls from Lars Kepler’s bestsellers The Sandman and Lazarus. Lars Kepler is the pen name of the husband-and-wife team Alexandra Coelho Ahndoril and Alexander Ahndoril, whose crime novels have sold more than 20 million copies worldwide—plenty of dark material for a show built on dread, obsession, and the fallout of old cases that won’t stay buried.
