Matt Reeves’ gritty 'The Batman' cinematic universe eyes expansion from a reported dynamic duo
Fresh reports suggest a Dynamic Duo could be headed for Matt Reeves’ Batverse—care to guess who makes the cut?
New Orleans outfit Swaybox is bringing a hands-on twist to Gotham. The studio’s hybrid process — blending physical puppetry with computer animation — will power the theatrical feature Dynamic Duo, which The Wrap reports will unfold inside Matt Reeves ’ gritty Batman universe.
Story-wise, the film zeroes in on the sidekicks: Dick Grayson and Jason Todd. Casting is already in place for the pair, with Mason Thames and Logan Kim set to voice them, while the role of Batman himself remains unannounced.
In theaters September 22, 2028.
Matt Reeves is producing the project, positioning the animated movie alongside the world he launched with 2022’s The Batman starring Robert Pattinson. That continuity sits under DC ’s “Elseworlds” banner — separate from James Gunn ’s mainline DCU — which leaves room for different tones and formats to coexist without crossing wires.
