Masters of the Universe is flexing at the box office—now the burning question is when He-Man muscles onto streaming.

He-Man is back on the big screen, four decades after this whole thing started as a toy line that turned into a weirdly durable pop-culture machine. If you grew up on Eternia and you are now herding kids of your own, you are not alone. And yes, the obvious question: when can you watch the new Masters of the Universe at home, and where is it actually going to stream?

Short answer

There is no official streaming date yet. The movie is an Amazon MGM release, so Prime Video is the most likely streaming home once it finishes its theatrical run. For now, it is theaters only. That also means you will not find it on Netflix or any other streamer right now.

Why Prime Video is the safe bet

Amazon MGM generally funnels its theatricals to Prime Video after the box office run wraps up. The studio has not confirmed that plan for Masters of the Universe yet, but given the track record, Prime Video is the logical landing spot.

When might it hit digital and then Prime Video?

Amazon MGM often does a two-step: first a digital rental/purchase window (PVOD), then the move to Prime Video a bit later. Recent example: Mercy showed up to rent or buy roughly a month after theaters, then landed on Prime Video about a month after that. If Masters of the Universe follows the same playbook, industry chatter points to a digital release in early July and a Prime Video debut in early August. Emphasis on 'if' — the studio changes timing title by title, so it could slide earlier or later.

'MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE dropped -71% domestically on its second weekend. With a budget of nearly $200M, it is now tracking to become one of biggest box office bombs of all time.'

— Global Box Office, June 14, 2026

That second-weekend tumble is rough, but it might also nudge the home release timeline sooner rather than later. Again: nothing official.

  • Right now: only in theaters
  • Most likely streamer: Prime Video (Amazon MGM title)
  • Probable sequence (based on precedent, not confirmed): digital to rent/buy around early July, Prime Video around early August
  • Not available on: Netflix or competing services (for now)

The bottom line

If you want it immediately, you will need a ticket. If you are waiting for the couch version, keep an eye on Amazon MGM and Prime Video for the official dates. I will update when the studio locks the plan.
