Marvel revives Avengers: Endgame with Endgame Encore, teasing a Doomsday connection
Marvel Studios officially confirmed a theatrical re-release of Avengers: Endgame, titled Avengers: Endgame Encore, marking the blockbuster’s return to theaters.
The re-release isn’t just a victory lap. Avengers: Endgame Encore adds an all-new final sequence that links directly to Avengers: Doomsday and expands the movie by about seven minutes, positioning the 2019 blockbuster as a direct lead-in to Marvel ’s next team-up.

Marvel is pairing the re-release with a technical push: a new premium auditorium standard called Infinity Vision, created by Disney. The certification is designed for theaters that meet stricter picture-and-sound specs, offering another high-end option alongside IMAX, Dolby Cinema and other premium formats.
According to Disney’s presentation shared with exhibitors, more than 7,500 screens worldwide have already applied for Infinity Vision certification, and theater chains are upgrading projection and audio ahead of the fall rollout. IMAX, 4DX and Dolby locations will continue to be supported with traditional marketing, while Infinity Vision aims to unify quality benchmarks across additional premium rooms.
“We commend Disney for taking an important first step toward advancing this objective and look forward to collaborating with them and our broader industry partners to align on a unifying PLF brand and set of standards,” Cinemark CEO Sean Gamble said in a statement reported by Deadline.
The timing sets the table for Marvel’s December launch of Avengers: Doomsday, with the Encore cut acting as a handoff. Disney has also opened an official ticket landing page for the re-release. Avengers: Endgame Encore arrives in U.S. theaters on September 25, 2026 .
