Kristin Cavallari Reveals Exactly What Her Ultimate Dream Guy Looks Like
Kristin Cavallari reveals her blueprint for the perfect guy—and admits love is on pause, telling Us Weekly that dating hasn’t been a priority for the past year as she promotes The Reunion: Laguna Beach.
Kristin Cavallari is not shopping for a boyfriend right now. She is, however, very clear on the kind of guy who could eventually earn a spot in her already jam-packed life. And yes, she said all this while hyping the Laguna Beach reunion. Timing is everything.
Where she is with dating right now
The 39-year-old Uncommon James founder told Us Weekly that dating has been off the priority list for about a year. Even if Mr. Right magically appeared today, she is not convinced he would fit into her current setup.
Context helps: she and ex-husband Jay Cutler finalized their divorce in 2022, and they share three kids — sons Camden, 13, and Wyatt, 11, and daughter Saylor, 10. With a true co-parenting schedule, she realistically has every other weekend to herself. Last weekend was one of those, and she loved having total freedom to do nothing with no one.
"I am not ready to give that up. I really value alone time. That is how I recharge my batteries."
On top of that, her day job(s) are blasting at full volume. The kids are busy with sports, Uncommon James has multiple partnerships and activations in the pipeline, the Laguna Beach reunion is rolling out, and her podcast, Let's Be Honest, keeps her calendar stuffed. In her words, work is at 110 right now. Translation: she is maxed out.
Could that change? Maybe. She joked that once Camden is driving, life might look different. So, not never — just not now.
The blueprint for her perfect guy
She has a specific draft board: older than her, already a dad (ideally with kids who are a bit older), completely outside entertainment, and someone who has been successful but is easing out of the grind — basically in the same life phase she is aiming for. The vibe she wants is travel, fun, and a partner who is comfortable in his own skin, makes her laugh, and never feels the need to compete with her. She says that last part has happened before, which she finds bizarre.
Why she is talking now: the Laguna Beach reunion
Cavallari and the original crew have reassembled for the first time in more than 20 years. The special, The Reunion: Laguna Beach, features a lot of nostalgia, some grown-up closure, and a standout moment where Cavallari and longtime on-and-off frenemy Lauren Conrad, 40, have their first real on-camera one-on-one.
Not everyone jumped at the invite. Conrad said some castmates were hesitant about stepping back into the glare and that she personally called Christina, Morgan, and Lo to talk it through. They all live pretty quiet lives now, so the question was: do we actually want to do this again? After some honest conversations, they went for it — healthy hesitations and all — as she explained at the Los Angeles premiere last month.
