Kelsey Grammer’s comments hint Beast may not be a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it cameo in Avengers: Doomsday, pointing to a role with real weight.

Asked how he approached Beast’s comeback in Avengers: Doomsday, Kelsey Grammer zeroed in on Hank McCoy’s moral code — quiet restraint until circumstances demand otherwise — and said that guiding idea shaped how he played the blue-furred genius in the new film, according to a new chat with ComingSoon.

“To my mind, he's the Martin Luther King of the mutant community,” Grammer said. “I love playing him. I think people will be happy with what we’re doing when he comes back.”

Grammer noted the X‑Men’s long tradition of civil-rights parallels, but instead of the usual Professor X comparisons, he leans on his own read of Beast as a symbol of dignity and conviction. He’s lived with the character for nearly two decades — from the 2000s X‑Men films through later cameos — and said the new shoot reunited him with familiar faces in what he called one of the largest ensembles he’s ever worked with.

Ticket sales already piling up

Separately, Disney said the movie has already sold $50 million in advance tickets with roughly 70% of those purchases for premium “Infinity Vision” screenings — and it ’s still three months from release.

The cast lineup includes:

  • Robert Downey Jr. — Doctor Doom
  • Chris Evans — returning
  • Chris Hemsworth — returning
  • Paul Rudd — returning

Marvel has also confirmed appearances from major X‑Men and Fantastic Four characters.
