Hulu has ordered House of Stassi, and it is not a rerun of Vanderpump chaos — it is the next chapter of two people who grew up on TV and then grew apart in real life, now trying to figure it out on camera.

On the Monday, May 4 episode of the Humble Brag podcast, Katie laid out the premise: House of Stassi picks up right where their lives are right now and folds in the people who actually matter to them. A big chunk of Stassi's storyline is family — Beau, Hartford, and Messer — plus her best friends, including Katie.
Katie also dropped the thing fans have been speculating about but never got confirmed: she and Stassi had a falling out nobody knew about. The series tracks them working their way back to being friends, with the catch that they are no longer in the same lane. Stassi is married with two kids. Katie is divorced and newly dating someone else.
Katie called the whole setup really wonderful because it is honest about what it takes to keep a friendship from your early 20s all the way into your 40s. Translation: the conflict here is the kind that happens naturally when people change, not the kind you manufacture because a producer told you to go break a wine glass.
Or, as Katie put it, this is not Vanderpump Rules where people sometimes wanted to "f*** s*** up" just to stir the pot. The goal now is to say the hard things, put it all on the table, and hopefully get to a place where it is settled by the end of the day.
How we got here, minus the noise
Quick refresher: Katie and Stassi have been tight since Vanderpump Rules launched in 2013. Stassi was fired from VPR in 2020, and after that, the two were seen together less and less, which kicked off years of are-they-feuding chatter. In 2024, Stassi tried to tamp that down in a TikTok comment, saying she is not on VPR anymore, she is not on any team, and friendships ebb and flow without anything sinister behind it. Around the same time, Katie told the Off the Vine podcast that Stassi has two kids now and, yeah, she wishes they spent more time together — but life is life, and eventually it evens out.
Then last month, while promoting the show, Stassi finally said the quiet part out loud in an interview published April 27:
"No one knows that we had a falling out for years. Now we are rebuilding our friendship after growing in two completely different directions."
Where Katie is at now
For context, Katie married her VPR costar Tom Schwartz in 2019. They split in 2022 after more than a decade together, and she is now dating someone new. That contrast — Stassi in full family mode, Katie figuring out post-divorce life — is the crux of the series.
And yes, VPR is still doing its thing
Vanderpump Rules got a bump in 2024 with a refreshed cast in the wake of Scandoval, but House of Stassi is a separate lane. Katie says this one feels like it has a different life to it, and she is genuinely excited for people to see where she and Stassi actually stand right now.
