Bravo diehard Jon Hamm dives into the Summer House dating scandal, dishing to Us Weekly at PaleyFest LA on the Amanda Batula–West Wilson–Kyle Cook–Ciara Miller mess — even though he’s more of a Real Housewives loyalist.

Jon Hamm popped up at PaleyFest LA to talk about his Apple TV show and, naturally, got dragged into the Summer House mess. He doesn't even really watch that one, but he still had thoughts. And yes, he said the quiet part out loud.

Hamm on West, cameras, and reality TV chaos

On Saturday, April 11, at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, Hamm told Us Weekly he's more of a Real Housewives guy than a Summer House regular. Still, he's met West Wilson (they're both Missouri guys, Hamm's talked to him on a carpet), and his read was pretty blunt.

"Seems like a nice guy. Seems to be in over his head."

Hamm also pointed out the obvious: trying to live a normal life with cameras on you 24/7 sounds brutal. He says he feels for all of them, which, fair.

Quick catch-up on the Amanda/West/Kyle/Ciara tangle

If you&aposre lost, here's the clean version of what happened and when. And yes, it &aposs messy even by Bravo standards.

  • January: Amanda Batula and Kyle Cook split after four years of marriage. They're now estranged.
  • March 31: Amanda and West Wilson post a joint statement confirming they've gone from friends to dating. They say they saw the speculation, didn't intend to hide anything, and took time to process privately because the dynamics are complicated and the spotlight is intense. They also say the connection grew from a long-standing friendship, so they wanted to handle it carefully.
  • Context the internet latched onto: Amanda is close friends with Ciara Miller, who used to date West. Amanda and West had also previously denied they were together, which only fueled the backlash once they confirmed it.
  • April 1: Kyle speaks to Adam Glyn on TikTok and says he's actually worried about Amanda. He says he talked to her the night before and, while he's not excusing anything, from what he's seeing she's getting cyberbullied.
  • April 10: Amanda returns to Instagram Stories with an apology to everyone she's disappointed or hurt, including people she's reached out to directly. She says she needs to protect her mental health and try to live some version of normal again, but that the situation is still weighing on her and she's not pretending it didn't happen.
  • April 11: Enter Jon Hamm with the "in over his head" line at PaleyFest LA.

Also floating in the background: Andy Cohen has publicly backed Amanda and West amid the blowback.

Hamm's current Bravo watchlist

He may not be up to speed on Summer House, but he's already sampling The Real Housewives of Rhode Island. He's caught a couple episodes, calls the setting interesting, says he's spent time there and that the place pulls from a lot of different vibes, and he's curious to see where the show goes.
