John Stamos Shares Final Photo With Bob Saget in Emotional Tribute
Full House alum John Stamos marked what would have been Bob Saget’s 70th birthday on Sunday with an emotional Instagram carousel of candid photos and video, remembering the final moments he spent with his longtime costar.
On what would have been Bob Saget's 70th, John Stamos went back through the memories and hit post. It is tender, a little raw, and exactly the kind of thing you do when the funny guy in your life was also the glue.
Stamos marks 70 with a last look back
On Sunday, May 17, Stamos, 62, shared an Instagram carousel packed with photos and video of Saget from before his death in January 2022. The final slide is a quiet gut-punch: Saget standing with his widow, Kelly Rizzo, alongside Stamos and Stamos' wife, Caitlin McHugh, framed by a sunset over the ocean. Stamos wrote directly on that image: "Last pic."
His caption kept it simple and personal: "We used to throw each other great birthday parties. Your 70th today would've been epic! I miss you and love you."
What happened in 2022, clearly
Saget died on January 9, 2022, in his room at the Ritz-Carlton in Orlando, Florida. An autopsy the following month determined he died from a head injury. The family later explained that he likely hit the back of his head on something, did not realize how serious it was, went to sleep, and never woke up. There were no drugs or alcohol involved. It was tragic, simple, and baffling in the way these things sometimes are.
The Full House family reacts
When the news broke in 2022, Stamos went straight to Twitter (now X) with a message that still stings:
"I am broken. I am gutted. I am in complete and utter shock. I will never ever have another friend like him. I love you so much
