Real Housewives of Orange County star Jennifer Pedranti is standing up for her son Dawson after his Charlie Kirk T-shirt sparked backlash, posting an Easter Sunday church photo on Instagram as she defended him.
What was supposed to be a sweet Easter family pic turned into a whole comment-section skirmish over a T-shirt. Jennifer Pedranti saw it, and she did not stay quiet.
The photo that set it off
On Sunday, April 5, the 48-year-old Real Housewives of Orange County cast member posted a shot from church with her kids. Jennifer was in white pants, matching shoes, and a long-sleeve blue top. Next to her was Dawson, 19, in white sneakers, blue shorts, and a white tee that said "Freedom." In her caption, she wished everyone a happy Easter and noted that her daughter Everleigh was the only one missing because she was in Hawaii.
Why the shirt blew up
Dawson's tee looked a lot like Turning Point USA merch. If you have not been keeping track: TPUSA is the conservative nonprofit founded by Charlie Kirk, who died in September 2025 after he was shot during a speaking engagement at Utah Valley University. That context is a lightning rod all by itself, and it followed Jennifer right into her comments.
The reactions (and Jennifer's response)
Fans split fast. Some praised the look: "Church and a Freedom Tee. Love it!!!" Others were not thrilled, with one person chiming in "Not Charlie Kirk merch," while another fired off support with "Love the Freedom shirt!" and someone else calling out the negativity: "A lot of these comments are gross. Love his shirt, thankful for his service! Happy Easter!"
Jennifer jumped in to back her son and made it clear this was not a one-off choice.

The Marine connection
That "thankful for his service" line was not random. Dawson joined the U.S. Marine Corps and finished boot camp in late 2025. Last June, Jennifer talked about the lead-up to him leaving: she and her fiance, Ryan Boyajian, grabbed coffee with Dawson before he shipped out and kept it normal on purpose. When it was actually time to say goodbye, she admitted the letting-go part leveled her. Bottom line: she loves the kid, and she is very proud of him.
