Is Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine in Avengers: Doomsday? Here’s Where Things Stand
Hugh Jackman isn’t currently attached to Avengers: Doomsday as Wolverine yet, according to people familiar with the production.
Marvel ’s initial cast rollouts for Avengers: Doomsday have stacked the movie with returning Fox-era X-Men — but not Wolverine. That absence has become the biggest question hanging over the film, especially with so many familiar mutants already locked in.
After putting the claws back on in Deadpool & Wolverine, Hugh Jackman told The View he had no update to share about appearing in Doomsday. He joked that if Wolverine showed up, he’d run the table on everyone, but emphasized he truly had nothing to announce.
Marvel has not confirmed Wolverine for Avengers: Doomsday.
Who’s back so far
- Patrick Stewart — Professor X
- Ian McKellen — Magneto
- James Marsden — Cyclops
- Rebecca Romijn — Mystique
- Alan Cumming — Nightcrawler
- Kelsey Grammer — Beast
- Channing Tatum — Gambit (following his MCU debut in Deadpool & Wolverine)
The multiverse setup that’s been threading through recent MCU projects makes those crossovers possible, and Jackman’s fresh return opposite Ryan Reynolds only adds fuel to the speculation. With multiple legacy X-Men confirmed, Wolverine is the one conspicuous omission fans keep circling.
Marvel hasn’t announced any additional casting or a reveal timeline, and Jackman has offered no change to that status.
