Inside Britney Spears' Post-DUI Hangout With Diane Warren and Molly Shannon
Britney Spears was all smiles on Easter Sunday, reuniting with Diane Warren and close friends for a sunlit selfie — a buoyant turn after a headline-grabbing week. Warren, 69, shared the Instagram snap featuring Spears, 44, celebrating with longtime pals.
Britney Spears popped up in a new Easter selfie with Diane Warren and Molly Shannon, flipping the camera the bird and looking unbothered. Given the timing, it is worth flagging: this comes a month after her DUI arrest, with the case still active. There is also a small family update tucked in here that fans will care about.
The Easter hang
On Sunday, April 5, Diane Warren, 69, shared a selfie on Instagram with the caption "Fun afternoon with some old friends" plus a bunny emoji for Easter 2026. In the shot: Britney Spears, 44; Saturday Night Live alum Molly Shannon; and Spears manager and longtime friend Cade Hudson.
Spears gave the camera the middle finger and held what looked like a cocktail. Worth noting: it is not clear if there was alcohol in the glass. Her look was full stealth-mode pop star — black hat, black sunglasses, black fingerless gloves — with what looked like a white scarf and a burnt orange top.
Where the DUI case stands
- March 4: The California Highway Patrol’s Ventura Communications Center got a call about a black BMW speeding and driving erratically on the 101 freeway.
- Officers pulled over Spears. After they said she showed signs of impairment, she was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of a combination of drugs and alcohol.
- She was booked into Ventura County Main Jail and released three hours later.
- Chemical test results are still pending, and the case remains under investigation as of now.
- Her court date is set for Monday, May 4.
After the arrest, her rep told Us Weekly that she intends to follow the process and make changes. The tone was blunt:
"This was an unfortunate incident that is completely inexcusable."
Beyond that, the rep said she is going to comply with the law and use this as a reset, ideally with real support around her.
Family check-in
Post-arrest, her team said she planned to spend time with her sons: Preston, 20, and Jayden, 19, whom she shares with ex-husband Kevin Federline. (Spears and Federline split in 2007 after three years of marriage. She later married Sam Asghari in 2022; they divorced in 2023.)
On March 29, Spears resurfaced in a rare photo with Preston — he gave a closed-mouth smile with his arm around her shoulder.
And on Friday, April 3, Us reported that both sons have started using their mom’s last name socially — Spears — though neither has made a legal name change. It is a small but telling move, and yes, it feels meaningful even if it is not on paper yet.
One last industry footnote: that Easter table is a fascinating mix — Warren (who does not just pop into anyone’s comments or camera roll), SNL favorite Molly Shannon, and Hudson, who straddles friendship and management with Britney. If you follow her orbit closely, that combination says a lot about who is around her right now.
