Iconic ’90s MTV Cartoon Finally Hits Netflix — Release Date Revealed
Break out the nostalgia—one of MTV’s most iconic 90s cartoons is making a big streaming comeback on Netflix this summer, headlining the streamer’s newly revealed June wave of licensed favorites and fresh exclusives.
Netflix is cracking open the 90s vault this summer and grabbing one of MTV's crown jewels: Beavis and Butt-Head. For the first time, the franchise is landing on Netflix in June, and it is not just a token drop. The streamer is bringing both the current revival and a big chunk of the classic run to a much wider audience than it has had lately.
So, what is actually coming on June 16?
- 'Mike Judge's Beavis and Butt-Head' Seasons 1-2 — This is the revival that kicked off in 2022. Until now, you could only catch it on Paramount+ or during Comedy Central airings. If you missed it there (and a lot of people did), Netflix is about to fix that.
- 'Beavis and Butt-Head: The Mike Judge Collection' Vol. 1-3 — These are the DVD-era compilations of the original 1990s series. They do have some differences from the original MTV broadcasts, but those sets were notable at the time because they finally included the music video segments that defined the show. If Netflix's versions keep those in, that is a win.
Why this matters
This is the first real time Beavis and Butt-Head has been on Netflix, part of the platform's early wave of summer additions for June 2026. It opens the door for a lot of people who never chased the show to Paramount+ to finally see what the revival has been doing — and to revisit (or discover) the classic chaos from the 90s. There was also a shorter-lived revival era years back that flew under the radar; either way, more of the franchise in one place is good news.
Where the revival stands now
The current run has been going since 2022 and wrapped its third season last year on Comedy Central/Paramount. It has been successful enough that a fourth season is officially in the works, though there is no release date yet. The newer episodes lean into modern targets but still throw plenty of bones to longtime fans.
The Mike Judge ripple effect
Beavis and Butt-Head's comeback has been strong enough that Mike Judge's other animated heavyweight, King of the Hill, is also back in action with more on the way — three additional seasons are on deck.
Want everything right now?
If you are impatient, Paramount+ still has the full Beavis and Butt-Head ecosystem, including the movies. But if you are living on Netflix, circle June 16, 2026 — that is when the floodgates open there.
