What it’s about
Narrated by Hermes, the story intertwines two mythic couples: Orpheus and Eurydice, and Hades and Persephone. Orpheus — a gifted songwriter — falls for Eurydice, and when tragedy strikes, he braves the underworld to bring her back, as the strained marriage of Hades and Persephone plays out in parallel.
Hadestown: The Musical is playing exclusively in U.S. theaters. A streaming release has not been announced.
