Hours of 9/11 special programming set across Disney networks
Disney is hitting pause on its usual lineup to deliver a sweeping 9/11 tribute across its biggest networks and platforms.
Disney is lining up wall-to-wall 9/11 remembrance across its platforms as the 25th anniversary approaches, with coverage spanning ABC News, National Geographic, Disney+, Hulu , ABC local stations and ABC News Live, according to Variety. Portions of the programming are being developed with the 9/11 Memorial & Museum, bringing added historical context and firsthand perspectives from survivors, witnesses and first responders.
At the center of the plans is a live national broadcast produced by ABC News in partnership with WABC-TV New York, alongside a new National Geographic documentary that will explore additional stories tied to the attacks. The slate is designed to honor courage and resilience while revisiting how the day reshaped American life.
NatGeo’s new docuseries
National Geographic will premiere 9/11 Reunited, a three-part docuseries that follows first responders and eyewitnesses as they reconnect with the people they helped—or crossed paths with—on September 11. The series debuts August 21 on NatGeo, with episodes rolling to streaming the next day.
