Sky has officially greenlit a television adaptation of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, with Steve Lightfoot, best known for his work on Hannibal, at the helm. The last major American take on Stieg Larsson’s bestselling novel was directed by David Fincher and featured Daniel Craig alongside Rooney Mara. Craig’s portrayal of Mikael Blomkvist is often cited as one of his most layered performances to date.
Modernizing a Classic Mystery
This new series is set to span eight episodes and will be produced by Andy Harries, Charlottee Moore, and John Phillips from Left Bank Pictures, with Sam Hoyle representing Sky, and Amy Pascal and Scott Rudin also on board.
