Director Guy Ritchie has finally pinned down a window for MobLand Season 2, signaling that Tom Hardy’s Paramount+ smash — the streamer’s biggest-ever global series launch in 2025 — is closing in on a long‑awaited return.

If you were bracing for a long wait between MobLand seasons, good news: Guy Ritchie says the Tom Hardy-led crime series is back before the end of the year. For a show that set a new high-water mark for Paramount+ with the streamer’s biggest global series launch to date, that faster turnaround is very welcome.

Ritchie on the release window

Ritchie told ScreenRant that Season 2 is essentially wrapped on his end and on track for this year alongside a couple of his other projects. His words, not mine:

"Well, we finished our bit, so we’re wrapping up that whole series now. And then we’ve got The Gentlemen coming out soon, before the end of the year. I think we’ve got a few things. We’ve got MobLand before the end of the year, and we’ve got The Gentlemen before the end of the year. And we’ve got Wife & Dog. We’ve got three or four things coming out before the end of the year."

What that means behind the scenes

Season 2 finished filming just over a month before Ritchie gave that update, which already put it in a strong spot to land in 2026. No firm premiere date or month from Paramount+ yet, but the director saying "before the end of the year" narrows it down a lot.

Fun nerdy production footnote: Season 1 wrapped shooting a mere four days before it premiered. Wild. That frantic sprint clearly won’t be necessary this time, which should mean a smoother post process and, ideally, an even sharper season. Also, barring any curveballs, this makes a 2027 delay basically off the table.

Where Season 2 is headed

Season 1 stuck close to the blood feud between the Harrigans and the Stevensons, with the show only teasing its larger, international sprawl. With the Stevensons out of the picture, the broader chessboard should come into focus — including how Kat McAllister really fits into this world and what her revenge plan for Harry da Souza looks like.

  • Filming: Done; Ritchie says his team has wrapped their part.
  • Release window: Before the end of this year (no exact date yet from Paramount+).
  • Scale: Expect bigger and louder than Season 1, with more of the global crime network finally stepping forward.
  • Season 1 fallout: Harry was accidentally stabbed by his wife, Jan; Kevin appears to be running the family business now; Conrad and Maeve are in prison — the power map is scrambled in a good way.
  • Ritchie’s slate: He also name-checked The Gentlemen and Wife & Dog as arriving before year’s end.

Bottom line: the show that blew the doors off for Paramount+ is not disappearing for two or three years like so many streaming hits do. With the season in the can and Ritchie already talking timing, a proper date — and hopefully our first footage — should not be far off.
