49ers star George Kittle has one request for the Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift wedding — no replay of Christian McCaffrey and Olivia Culpo’s beer shortage that forced him to step in and keep the party going.

George Kittle has one very practical wish for the Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift wedding: please, for the love of lager, do not run out of beer.

The McCaffrey wedding beer saga (aka why George is nervous)

Kittle says he learned this the hard way at Christian McCaffrey and Olivia Culpo's June 2024 wedding, where the taps basically cried uncle. According to George, the beer situation got so thin that he had to bail out the party himself.

That was a tough one. I had to provide most of the beer that night.

He told Us Weekly that story during an interview with his wife, Claire, at the 2026 NFL Draft on Thursday, April 23 — part of a promo appearance tied to U.S. Bank. As for Kelce and Swift (both 36), Kittle is betting they will be stocked and then some. He expects Travis to be ready, and he is clearly excited to be there when they tie it this summer before Kelce heads into his 14th season with the Kansas City Chiefs.

George and Claire's weddings: tiny, cheap(ish), and very them

While Kelce and Swift are about to throw the most watched ceremony of the year, the Kittles went the opposite direction. Claire says they first got legally married on a random Wednesday in 2019 inside a jewelry store in Iowa City — she literally grabbed a one-piece jumpsuit from Dillard's and they kept it to just immediate family and friends who owned the shop.

They followed that with a small, actual ceremony in 2021: 30 people at their house, no venue fee, checkered dance floor, and George's only non-negotiable was a root beer float for dessert. The guest list was basically his groomsmen and their spouses, plus her bridesmaids and their spouses. Efficient. Low drama. Zero centerpiece stress.

From $500 rent to thinking about first-class flights

George and Claire met at the University of Iowa and got engaged in 2018. Reality hit well before the big contracts. After the 49ers drafted him in 2017, they went from paying $500 a month in Iowa to $5,000 in Silicon Valley for a three-bedroom — and they still had to split it with two of George's teammates because that was the only way it penciled out. That is when the money talks really started: welcome to California.

In August 2020, Kittle signed a five-year, $75 million deal with San Francisco, which came with new math. More income meant nicer trips and the temptation to upgrade to first class — along with the realization that you have to plan for the day the checks stop looking like that. Back in college, the financial decision tree was simpler: basically, can I afford a beer today?

He re-upped again in April 2025 with a four-year, $76.4 million extension that includes $40 million guaranteed. Through all of it, the Kittles say they have leaned on U.S. Bank — timely mention, since the bank just signed a multi-year deal to become the NFL's official bank and wealth management sponsor.
