From co-stars to couple: Off Campus stars Mika Abdalla and Josh Heuston are dating after Jake Short split

Off Campus might have its first real-life ship. Word is Mika Abdalla and her co-star Josh Heuston are dating. At the same time, there is a not-so-fun update for fans of Heuston’s character next season. Let’s sort the real from the rumored.

So… are Mika Abdalla and Josh Heuston together?

Us Weekly says yes, citing sources who claim the two are dating. That report landed right after the outlet said Abdalla had split from her former boyfriend, Jake Short, whom she met on the set of Sex Appeal in 2021. Neither Abdalla nor Heuston has said anything publicly about the new relationship.

Fuel on the fire: fans spotted the pair together in Paris on June 22, 2026, per Us Weekly. Heuston was also photographed at the Louis Vuitton mens SS27 show the next day, which at minimum confirms he was in town. Again, nothing official from the actors, but the timing is eyebrow-raising.

How they met and where their characters left off

Abdalla and Heuston first met filming Season 1 of Prime Video ’s Off Campus. She plays Allie Hayes. He plays Justin (Justin Kohl), who had a thing for Hannah (Ella Bright). Hannah picked Garrett instead, leaving Justin very much not okay. Heuston has said he hopes Justin makes peace with it — and maybe turns the heartbreak into some solid songs.

About Season 2: good news for Mika fans, not so much for Justin stans

Abdalla is back and leading the next season. Justin, however, will not appear in Season 2. Creator Louisa Levy told TV Guide she loves both the actor and the character, and this is not a permanent goodbye:

"[He is] not [in] next season, but I love Josh and I would not write him off if I can find a way to bring Justin back at some point."

Levy explained that Justin has significant story ahead in the books, including a future with a character named Stella, so there’s material to mine later. The plan was never to write him out of Season 2; according to Levy, Heuston was simply unavailable. Deadline reports he has been busy shooting the horror- thriller The First Exorcist. If schedules line up, both Josh and Justin could return down the road.
