Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 shakes up the franchise with shocking mid- and post-credits scenes. Dive into the hidden clues and what they mean for the next chapter—without giving away the biggest twists.

Director Emma Tammi and series creator Scott Cawthon have taken the Five Nights at Freddy’s universe to a whole new level with the second film. The story’s climax leaves Mike Schmidt and Abby facing a reality that’s been turned upside down, while Vanessa’s transformation into the Marionette opens up a world of new mysteries. But as fans have come to expect, the most jaw-dropping moments are tucked away after the main story ends.

Mid-Credits Scene: A Chilling Return

As the credits begin to roll, viewers are treated to a scene set on a stormy night outside the abandoned Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. A group of scavengers sneaks inside, not to steal, but to collect relics—old posters, fan blades, and animatronic parts—for a haunted house project. This sequence is a clear nod to the third game’s Fazbear’s Fright setting.

While exploring the crumbling halls, one scavenger discovers a hidden room that doesn’t appear on any blueprints. The camera slowly moves in, revealing William Afton slumped against the wall in a battered yellow rabbit suit. Suddenly, his left eye flashes with a bright purple glow, and a terrifying, mechanical-human sound fills the air before the screen cuts to black.

Post-Credits Scene: A Haunting Warning

After the final credits fade, the screen stays dark. The only sound is the static of an old cassette tape. Henry Emily’s voice, urgent and shaky, breaks the silence.

“I couldn’t save you then, so let me save you now,”

he pleads.

“Don’t go back. It’s not…”

His warning is cut short as he shouts that the Marionette is after him. The tape abruptly ends, leaving the audience in silence.

Setting the Stage for What’s Next

The mid-credits moment makes it clear that the next film will dive into the Fazbear’s Fright storyline, with William Afton’s return as Springtrap promising a new level of danger. The scavengers’ discovery and Afton’s reawakening set up the franchise’s most infamous villain arc.

The audio-only post-credits scene hints at deeper lore. Henry Emily’s desperate message shows he’s aware of the looming threat and is trying to intervene. The mention of the Marionette suggests Charlotte Emily’s spirit is still active, setting up a dramatic confrontation in the future.

Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 hits theaters December 5.
