If you’re lining up a rewatch, the two movies aren’t in the same place right now. Ted 2 is currently streaming on FuboTV, while the 2012 original Ted is available to rent on Amazon Prime Video .

A quick refresher: the first movie follows Boston everyman John Bennett and his childhood teddy bear who came to life and never learned an inside voice. The sequel sends Ted into a courtroom fight to be recognized as a person with civil rights.
Is a third movie coming?
There’s fresh chatter. During a YouTube livestream titled “N3on Survives Mark Wahlberg ’s 4 AM Morning Routine”, Mark Wahlberg said he and Seth MacFarlane could reunite for a third film. MacFarlane, of course, is the voice of Ted in both movies and the TV series. Nothing has been announced or greenlit yet.
The TV series cost problem
On the small screen, Ted has also been busy — and pricey. MacFarlane said the show’s production demands have made future seasons a tough sell for its home on Peacock .
“What I kept hearing [from Peacock and Universal] was, ‘Listen, the show is really expensive to produce, and there’s no way to do it at a lower cost,’ so I said, ‘all right, I hear you loud and clear,’” he told The Wrap.
He’s compared the workload to cranking out a Marvel- scale spectacle in just 22 minutes per episode. The series has two seasons to date, and while a third season is uncertain because of costs, talk of another movie is still on the table — just not confirmed.
