Every Confirmed Henry Cavill Project in the Works Right Now
Henry Cavill’s confirmed films and series are sketching out his post-Superman career — but which projects are steering this next act?
The swords are already swinging on Highlander: filming ran through mid-2026 across Scotland, London, Poland and Hong Kong, and early footage screened behind closed doors at CinemaCon in April. Chad Stahelski is at the helm, bringing his John Wick fight-design pedigree to Henry Cavill’s take on immortal Scotsman Connor MacLeod, with a theatrical release expected in 2027 .
The new cast leans big and bruising. Russell Crowe steps in as mentor Ramírez, while Dave Bautista tackles the towering villain Kurgan — a setup that suggests Stahelski’s trademark, bone-crunching set pieces are headed for this legacy reboot.
Voltron reboots on streaming
On the other end of the nostalgia spectrum, Amazon ’s live-action Voltron wrapped filming back in May 2025 and will skip theaters, launching exclusively on Prime Video in 2027. Cavill plays King Alfor, a mentor figure guiding a new squad of paladins, with Rawson Marshall Thurber directing.
- Henry Cavill — King Alfor
- Sterling K. Brown — Zarkon
- Rita Ora — Haggar
Three Cavill-led projects are targeting 2027 releases.
Warhammer 40,000 takes shape
Cavill is still leading and executive producing Warhammer 40,000 for Amazon, a passion project that’s finally gaining momentum. Horror maestro Mike Flanagan has signed on to write, completing initial outlines and moving into full scripting, with United Artists also coming aboard. His character remains under wraps, and Games Workshop has cautioned the series is still years from release.
One smaller, long-gestating title remains in limbo: The Rosie Project. Cavill has been attached since 2021 to play Don Tillman, a socially awkward genetics professor, in the adaptation of Graeme Simsion’s novel. Stephen Falk is set to direct and co-write, but there’s been little public movement as Cavill’s action calendar has filled up.
Cavill tries straight-up comedy
Next up on the calendar is an untitled Netflix spy comedy (working title: Spy Duo) that pairs Cavill with Kevin Hart under director McG. The hook: two rival agents get forced into a détente when their pregnant wives bond at a Lamaze class — and their professional lives collide at the worst possible time.
Production on the Netflix comedy is scheduled to start in August 2026 and run through November, with a streaming release planned for 2027.
