After nearly four years away, Euphoria roared back to HBO in April 2026 with Sam Levinson steering a likely final, no-prisoners season. Season 3 detonates some of the show’s most jaw-dropping, controversial chaos yet, starting with a stomach-churning premiere.

After almost four years off the air, Euphoria crashed back onto HBO in April 2026 like it had a vendetta. If this really is the show’s last lap, Sam Levinson is not easing up. Season 3 has been gross, polarizing, and wildly entertaining — and it just took out a fan favorite. Here is the messy highlight reel so far.

We jump five years and Rue is a drug mule now

The April 12, 2026 premiere jumps forward half a decade and drops us into a truly stomach-churning opener: Rue (Zendaya ) is running drugs across the border. She and Faye (Chloe Cherry) literally lube up and swallow balloon after balloon of product in Mexico, then smuggle it into the U.S. Rue barely makes it home and gets the balloons out. Faye does not. There is feces down her leg. A dog tries to lick it off. Yes, that actually aired on HBO.

Cassie’s creator era spirals fast

On April 19, we get a flashback tracking how Cassie Howard (Sydney Sweeney ) slides into explicit online content — think topless ice-cream photo shoots and adult-baby role-play. By May 10, she is masturbating on camera, mailing used underwear to fans, and going topless again, all while Nate Jacobs (Jacob Elordi) pushes her to do more to cover his mounting debts. It is one of the season’s most divisive arcs for a reason.

The wedding from hell

April 26 finally delivers the Cassie/Nate wedding, and it is a fiasco end to end. Nate spends the day throwing up; Cassie nearly buckles. They get through the vows, but at dinner a guy named Naz corners Nate and exposes the money he owes — right in front of Cassie. She then pops him in the eye with a champagne cork (she says it is an accident), they patch things up, head home... and find Naz waiting. He is a loan shark, and he has a guy beat Nate and chop off his pinky while Cassie watches. Subtle, this show is not.

A brutal strip-club debut and a bleak watch

On May 3, Anna Van Patten (yes, Grace Van Patten’s sister) turns up as Kitty, a new dancer at the strip club where Rue works. With Angel (Priscilla Delgado) gone from rehab, Kitty gets booked by four men for a private room. She takes ketamine first; then they take turns having sex with her while Rue monitors it on the club’s security cameras. Rue tries to step in. Kitty waves her off. It is rough.

Maddy’s hot-tub deal with Alamo

As the finale looms, Maddy Perez (Alexa Demie) learns Nate has 72 hours to live unless his debt gets cleared. She goes to Alamo (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje) for help. He makes her put on a bathing suit and sit with him in his hot tub before saying he will front the $1 million she needs. The scene cuts away, and the show leaves the rest to your imagination. Later, Alamo says he is taking 20 percent of Maddy’s future earnings — a cut that becomes meaningless when Nate turns up dead.

Nate’s coffin, the rattlesnake, and the final gut punch

May 24 brings the season’s nastiest twist: Nate dies. He is locked underground in a coffin for 72 hours while Cassie scrambles to pay off his debts. A rattlesnake slithers into the box and bites him repeatedly. Cassie, Maddy, and Alamo dig him out, but they are too late. For a show that thrives on chaos, this is still a jaw-dropper.

Euphoria airs Sundays on HBO.
