Euphoria still reigns No. 1 on HBO Max’s trending list, proving binge buzz beats the Rotten Tomatoes score. Season 3 is a jolt-a-minute thrill ride, and Watch With Us is buckled in for every episode.

After all the delays, Euphoria season 3 is rolling and still doing what it does best: lighting a match and tossing it into a room full of gasoline. Critics can keep nitpicking the Rotten Tomatoes score; the audience clearly does not care. It is the No. 1 trending show on Max right now, because of course it is. Here is what to know before episode 4 hits.

  • Where: Streams on Max; also airs on HBO if you have cable
  • Season schedule: 8 episodes total, running through Sunday, May 31 with weekly drops
  • Free option: Nope. No free trial on Max at the moment
  • Trailer: Yes, there is a teaser for episode 4

Previously: episode 3 turned a wedding into a crime scene

Cassie (Sydney Sweeney ) and Nate (Jacob Elordi) finally had the big, ridiculous wedding, complete with a mountain of flowers that reportedly ran $50,000. Subtle, it was not. That excess did not go unnoticed by Naz (Jack Topalian), the loan shark Nate owes a cool half-million dollars. Naz crashes the party, and the whole event turns into a pressure cooker for Nate’s debts and his already shaky new marriage. By the end, Nate cannot talk his way out of a gruesome penalty: he loses his pinky toe. Not exactly a fairy-tale send-off.

Meanwhile, Rue (Zendaya ) is still neck-deep in the criminal orbit of Alamo (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje). She bails on the reception to team up with Bishop (Darrell Britt-Gibson) for a stealth revenge move against Laurie (Martha Kelly): they drug Laurie’s beloved parrot, Paladin. Yes, a parrot. This show does not believe in normal side quests.

We also get how Jules (Hunter Schafer) ended up as a sugar baby, tracing her path to her current arrangement with plastic surgeon Ellis (Sam Trammell). The wedding brings some fraught reunions: Jules and Nate, and Jules and Nate’s dad, Cal (Eric Dane). Those two threads actually find a bit of closure. What does not get closure: Maddy (Alexa Demie) and Nate. The spectacle is too much for Maddy, and she ghosts the wedding sometime after Rue takes off.

What the episode 4 trailer is teasing

Episode 3 ends with Rue getting arrested, and the trailer points to her cutting a deal with the feds: feed them intel on Laurie and Alamo in exchange for lighter charges (maybe none at all). Jules links up with Lexi (Maude Apatow) for some kind of acting gig and meets Lexi’s boss, played by Sharon Stone, which is exactly the kind of casting flex this show lives for.

Nate goes to court about his mysterious 'white fritillary' issues — a phrase that is either a deep cut or a typo the universe decided to make canon. Maddy, ever the pragmatist, starts steering Cassie toward influencer stardom. Laurie mourns Paladin (yes, still the parrot) and plots with her crew on how to strike back at Alamo. The stinger: Rue and stripper Magick (Rosalia) end up at gunpoint. Cozy Sunday viewing, truly.

Who is in and around episode 4

The usual suspects are front and center: Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi, Hunter Schafer, Alexa Demie, and Maude Apatow. Around them: Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Alamo), Martha Kelly (Laurie), Darrell Britt-Gibson (Bishop), Sharon Stone (Lexi’s boss), Chloe Cherry, Toby Wallace, James Landry Hebert, Melvin "Bonez" Estes, and Rosalia as Magick.

I will be planted on the couch Sunday. See you on the other side of whatever fresh chaos this show cooks up next.
