Emmy win for The Pitt is "still wild," says Shawn Hatosy
The Pitt star says he still can’t believe he won an Emmy last year — wait till you hear how he puts it.
At Warner Bros. Television Group’s Emmy Nominees Celebration, Shawn Hatosy was still wrapping his head around the whirlwind that started when he took home Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series at the 77th Creative Arts Emmy Awards in 2025 for his work on the Max medical drama The Pitt. He told Variety the win wasn’t something he’d ever pictured for himself.
"I don't think I imagined that kind of night, a success like that. Even in my hopes and dreams as a kid, you don't think about that stuff. You want to do good work."
Hatosy plays Dr. Jack Abbot, a combat veteran and former SWAT team/combat medic who’s now an attending physician. On the show, Abbot serves as both peer and foil to Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch, portrayed by Noah Wyle.
From guest to contender
After that guest-actor win, Hatosy moved into the main ensemble for Season 2 and is now nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actor. It ’s a quick rise that mirrors his character’s no‑nonsense presence in the ER.
‘The Pitt’ dominates the Emmys
The Pitt leads all shows at the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards with 25 nominations for its second season. Wyle, who won Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series at the 77th Primetime Emmys, is nominated again this year.
