Emily in Paris Season 6: Who’s Back — And Who’s Out?
Emily in Paris heads into its sixth and final season amid cast shake-ups and exits—so who’s in and who’s out? After a relationship-heavy Season 5, Emily ends up single, with sparks hinting a reunion with chef Gabriel could be back on the menu.
Season 5 of Emily in Paris left the chessboard a little messy: Emily single again, a Greek getaway on the horizon, and a few noticeable holes in the cast. If you felt the Gabriel-shaped absence this year, you were not imagining it. With the show eyeing a sixth (and reportedly final) season, here is where everyone stands, what the creative team is teasing, and who is likely in or out when the show returns.
Where we left off (and why Gabriel disappeared)
Emily spent most of season 5 coupled up, only to end the year unattached — and maybe, possibly, back on a collision course with Gabriel after he floated a trip to Greece. The chef himself barely factored into season 5, which tracks with the offscreen tension: Darren Star said Lucas Bravo was unhappy with his character’s storyline and wasn’t really looped in during development.
"[Lucas] really wasn’t consulted [on Gabriel’s season 5 arc], and he just chose to come back to the show," creator Darren Star told Decider in December 2025. "The story line worked out."
That absence isn’t meant to stick. Director Andrew Fleming said the plan is to fold Gabriel back into the mix — and to potentially pack the show’s bags.
"Assuming we’re picked up, I want to go back to Paris. But I want to go other places too," Fleming told Us in December 2025, adding that Greece — teased at the end of season 5 — is very much in play.
He also made it clear the Emily/Gabriel dynamic is still a core ingredient, even if no one will say where it lands.
"Gabriel is important. He’s part of the DNA of the show... Looking ahead, they’re part of each other’s journey... I really can’t say anything about what’s going to happen next season."
One more bit to keep in mind: at the time of those December 2025 interviews, a sixth season had not been officially announced, but everyone was talking like it was happening — and that it would close the book.
Who is likely back for season 6 (and who isn’t)
- Lily Collins (Emily) — Obviously back. Season 5 left her single and invited to Greece by Gabriel, setting up a fresh chapter on both the travel and romance fronts.
- Lucas Bravo (Gabriel) — Largely MIA in season 5 after voicing issues with how Gabriel was written, but the creative team intends to bring him back. Expect Emily and Gabriel to share screen time again, even if endgame stays murky.
- Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu (Sylvie) — Should return. She ended her marriage and cycled through a few short-lived flings in season 5, so there is plenty to mine.
- Ashley Park (Mindy) — Front and center. She secretly hooked up with Alfie after splitting from her ex, Emily found out, the secret imploded, and Mindy wound up engaged — right as Alfie was gearing up to win her back. If renewed, that triangle drives a lot of story.
- Lucien Laviscount (Alfie) — Poised for a bigger presence. He dropped from series regular to recurring in season 4 due to scheduling, but he has since made a deal to return as a series regular going forward. Necessary, given Mindy’s engagement drama.
- Paul Forman (Nicolas de Leon) — Very likely. Nic proposed to Mindy in season 5, so his side of that triangle will carry into season 6.
- Eugenio Franceschini (Marcello) — Emily’s fling with Marcello fizzled (for now). Even so, don’t rule out a reappearance if the show returns.
- Samuel Arnold (Julien) — Expected back. Arnold told Us in December 2025 he wants Julien to spread his wings — maybe launch his own firm or even work in the U.S. — which sounds like season-6-friendly plotting.
- Bruno Gouery (Luc) — If the show comes back, Luc comes back. Easy.
- Thalia Besson (Genevieve) — Not expected to return after the character was fired in season 5.
- Bryan Greenberg (Jake) — A brief season 5 appearance that left fans wanting more. As of now, whether he returns is up in the air.
- Minnie Driver (Princess Jane) — Count on seeing more. Now that Princess Jane is officially part of Savoir, her footprint should grow.
- Camille Razat (Camille) — She exited before season 5. In April 2025, she told TVLine she had chosen to step away, thanked the team, and noted the door was left open for a possible return someday. Translation: don’t expect her, but never say never.
Bottom line: if Netflix signs off on a sixth season, expect a hop to Greece, a recalibrated focus on Emily and Gabriel, and Mindy’s engagement vs. Alfie tug-of-war taking center stage. Plus, a few cast reunions, a couple of question marks, and at least one notable absence that might not stay absent for long.
