After reportedly fending off an intruder at their Los Angeles home, Dylan Sprouse and Barbara Palvin broke their silence on the Devil Wears Prada 2 red carpet, saying they’re leaning on humor to process the scare.

File this under Very Hollywood: Dylan Sprouse and Barbara Palvin say they are fine after a late-night scare at their Los Angeles place — and yes, they’re already cracking jokes about it.

What happened at their house

Early Friday, April 17, around 12:30 a.m. PT, Palvin spotted what she described to reporters as a 'creepy guy' outside their Hollywood Hills home and called 911. According to multiple reports, Sprouse came outside with a gun, tackled the alleged intruder on the front lawn, and restrained him until officers showed up.

  • Time: About 12:30 a.m. PT, Friday, April 17
  • Place: The couple’s Hollywood Hills home
  • What went down: Palvin called police; Sprouse confronted and subdued the man outside
  • Aftermath: No injuries reported; the suspect was arrested on an unrelated outstanding warrant

Important note: authorities and outlets say the whole confrontation happened outside the house. No one was hurt, and once police arrived, it was over quickly.

How they’re dealing with it

By Monday, April 20, the two had stepped onto a red carpet — because of course they did — at the premiere of The Devil Wears Prada 2, where they addressed the incident. Palvin, 32, told E! News they’re processing the shock with humor. Sprouse, 33 — forever the kid from The Suite Life of Zack & Cody but now very much an adult who apparently knows how to tackle — said he tends to defuse intense moments by joking almost immediately.

'You’ve got to have levity in life. Thankfully, no one was hurt and there was no more violence.'

Translation: they’re safe, they’re together, and they weren’t about to let a scary night ruin a movie premiere.

The two-minute refresher on Dylan and Barbara

They first met at a party in 2017 and reconnected on social a little later. After five years together, Palvin revealed in June 2023 that Sprouse had proposed — part of a cheeky, very-staged-on-purpose V Magazine feature. Sprouse later clarified he actually popped the question back in September 2022, and they kept it private for almost a year on purpose. The whole point of the shoot, he said at the time, was to play with what they share publicly versus what they keep to themselves. Palvin was on the same page, saying they built the reveal exactly the way they wanted.

One month after confirming the engagement, they married in Hungary, where she’s from. Palvin wore a custom Vivienne Westwood gown, and what was supposed to be a small ceremony turned into a 115-person celebration because, as she put it, they wanted everyone they care about to be there. Not exactly intimate, but sounds like a great party.

So, to sum up: scary moment, no injuries, one arrest on an unrelated warrant, and a couple that seems determined to keep things light. Very them.
