Dropped by Hulu, ‘Not Suitable for Work’ will be shopped by Warner Bros. TV
If you thought a canceled Mindy Kaling comedy was gone, think again — a TV studio is working to bring it back.
After a first season that ran 9 episodes and premiered in June, Warner Bros. Television is taking Not Suitable for Work back out to buyers. Per The Hollywood Reporter, the studio will shop the Mindy Kaling workplace comedy to other outlets after Hulu opted not to move forward with Season 2.
The half-hour follows five ambitious 20-somethings juggling messy office politics and even messier love lives while sharing an apartment in Manhattan’s Murray Hill. It ’s squarely in Kaling’s comfort zone: young professionals, sharp banter, and the tug-of-war between career and connection.

Shopping the series
Warner Bros. Television’s plan is straightforward: find a new home willing to back additional episodes. No target platforms were named, and there’s no timeline attached, but the move keeps the door open for a second season despite Hulu’s pass.
Cast says thank you
Following the cancellation news, creator Mindy Kaling posted a photo carousel of the cast and crew on Instagram, thanking viewers for sticking with the show.
“I love this show (Not Suitable for Work). I loved making this show, I love these people, and I love all of you for all your sweet comments, messages, edits, and for watching,”
Kaling wrote on Instagram. Co-star Jack Martin reshared her post, saying he’ll always cherish the show and everyone involved, and thanked fans for watching.
Avantika Vandanapu also shared her gratitude in an Instagram Story, singling out Kaling, Hulu and Warner Bros. Television for the opportunity.
“I love this cast and this team so very much!@notsuitableforwork gave me such an opportunity of a lifetime and introduced me to people and audiences I could have never even dreamed of meeting before,”
she wrote.
For now, Warner Bros. Television is fielding interest and pitching a potential Season 2 to other streamers and networks; no pickup has been announced.
