Disney+ in April 2026: Every New Movie and Show You Can’t Miss
Disney+'s April slate is slim, but it's the only destination for fresh Star Wars right now, with Star Wars: Maul — Shadow Lord premiering April 6.
April on Disney+ is not a kitchen-sink month, but it does have a couple of heavy hitters worth circling. If you want fresh Star Wars, this is where it is: the new animated series 'Star Wars: Maul - Shadow Lord ' kicks off April 6 with a two-episode drop and then keeps the lightsaber humming through the rest of the month. On the Marvel side, 'Daredevil: Born Again' keeps rolling out Season 2 with weekly episodes. Disney is also doing some cross-pollination with Hulu by parking the reality series 'Perfect Crown' on Disney+, and there are live events sprinkled in, including 'American Idol' streams and that techy NHL 'Inside Out Classic' broadcast. It is a grab bag, but not a bad one.
The headliners (and the oddities)
'Star Wars: Maul - Shadow Lord' plants its flag with a two-episode premiere on April 6 and new chapters on April 13, 20, and 27. It tracks Maul after the Clone Wars era, which is a juicy period for the character if you like your Sith plotting with extra grudges.
'Daredevil: Born Again' doesn’t take a week off: new Season 2 episodes hit April 7, 14, 21, and 28. Expect more bruised knuckles and complicated Catholic guilt.
Live stuff: 'American Idol' streams live on multiple Sundays, and the NHL gets experimental again with 'Inside Out Classic' on April 5 — a real-time, animated version of Capitals vs. Rangers.
