Several Lanterns characters are already slated to carry over into future DCU projects—but which ones make the cut might surprise you.

Two of the show’s ring-slingers won’t be off-screen for long: Aaron Pierre’s John Stewart and Nathan Fillion’s Guy Gardner are already set to appear in DC ’s Superman sequel, Man of Tomorrow, with Pierre reprising John alongside David Corenswet’s Clark Kent. The movie is dated for July 9, 2027 , making it the first confirmed continuation of John and Guy’s arcs beyond the series.

The Lanterns season finale tied off the central mystery around Hal Jordan’s death, while pivoting the franchise to its next chapter. John, after a season of resisting what the ring asks of him, claims the mantle on his own terms and sets up shop as Earth’s protector. Guy rockets out to handle trouble in deep space. And out on a desolate world, Sinestro is marooned with knowledge that could change the Corps forever.

Two Lanterns already booked

  • John Stewart (Aaron Pierre) — Now an independent Green Lantern guarding Earth, John’s next stop is Man of Tomorrow, confirming his story continues on the big screen.
  • Guy Gardner (Nathan Fillion) — Still the official Green Lantern for Sector 2814, Guy is also headed into Man of Tomorrow, setting up a reunion with John that picks up right where the finale left them.
“This ain’t over, hot shot.” — Guy Gardner. “Oh, I hope not.” — John Stewart.

On paper, that dynamic is already prickly: Guy retains the Corps assignment, while John has essentially made his own Earth-based version of the job. On screen, their banter writes itself.

Unfinished business from the finale

  • Sinestro (Ulrich Thomsen) — Once Hal’s mentor, he ends the season stranded after helping John create a new Lantern. He’s shown he can generate power from both will and fear, a clear bridge toward his comic-book legacy founding the Sinestro Corps. No next appearance is confirmed yet, but his path forward is obvious.
  • Noah Macon (Shea Pritchard) — Revealed as a Manhunter–human hybrid with something his kind weren’t built to have: a conscience. He saved Hal Jordan using Manhunter tech and later helped John understand what he is. John refuses to kill him, warning that if Noah ever loses control, someone will have to stop him. No project is announced for Noah, but he’s poised to be ally, antagonist, or both.
  • Kerry Kane (Kelly Macdonald) — The sheriff who actually killed Hal, trying to protect Noah after uncovering the truth about him. Showrunner Chris Mundy has indicated Kerry’s past was intentionally left open, making her one of the clearest candidates to return if the series comes back. There’s no announced next appearance for her yet.
  • The Manhunters — Zoe Macon is gone, but her legacy lives on through Noah, expanding the Manhunter mythology beyond a simple “extinct villain” label. John knows Noah can fight his programming—and that there’s no guarantee he always will—setting up a long-term question for the DCU about whether beings built for absolute justice can learn to choose what’s right.

As of now, a second season of Lanterns hasn’t been announced. With John Stewart and Guy Gardner both confirmed for DC’s next Superman outing, they’ll be back together on the big screen when Man of Tomorrow opens July 9, 2027.
