David Dastmalchian, Callum Kerr, Julia Rehwald Freak Out Over Their LEGO One Piece Minifigs
David Dastmalchian, Callum Kerr and Julia Rehwald came face to face with their own LEGO One Piece figurines — but how did they take it?
Three quick clips on Netflix ’s official X account put the new LEGO One Piece sets in the hands of the live-action cast, and they didn’t hold back. David Dastmalchian, Callum Kerr and Julia Rehwald each unboxed a different scene and immediately started staging rematches, rescues and a little petty pilfering.
- David Dastmalchian — Little Garden: The set drops you into the giants Dory and Brogy trading blows while the Straw Hats tangle with Baroque Works agent No. 3. Dastmalchian — who plays Mr. 3 in the live-action — lit up at seeing his minifigure and got a little emotional about his inner childhood “nerd” getting this gig.
- Callum Kerr — Showdown with Captain Smoker: Kerr admired the details on his Smoker face-off set piece and, in a very Smoker move, made off with the tiny version of the Marine’s bike by the end of the video.
- Julia Rehwald — Garp’s Marine Battleship: Rehwald zeroed in on the working parts of the massive ship build and, in pure Tashigi fashion, play-acted finally cuffing Roronoa Zoro. The moving sections were her favorite bit.
Two-part special, one tall storyteller
The animated special itself is a two-parter that retells the story of the live-action One Piece through season 2 — with a twist. It ’s narrated by the Straw Hats’ resident fabulist, Usopp, so expect an embellished, Usopp-first version of events. The original live-action cast is returning for the special.
LEGO One Piece hits Netflix on September 29, 2026.
LEGO is rolling out sets tied to iconic One Piece moments alongside the special’s push, with Netflix using the cast’s candid reactions to show off the builds — and, clearly, to let a few minifig heists happen on camera.
