That’s not shade; it’s self-preservation. Mazin said he loves this movie so much he doesn’t want to push his luck by going back to the well. He wrote the script almost a decade before it finally hit theaters, and with that kind of distance, he’s content watching audiences discover it instead of diving back in himself. He also made it clear any sequel would depend on how people show up for the first one. Translation: if the movie keeps playing, the door isn’t locked — he just might hand the keys to someone else.
So… should fans still be optimistic?
