Clear Your Calendar: Every New Movie and Show Hitting Netflix in May 2026
Netflix is kicking off summer early with a May blitz of new movies and high-profile series, led by The Four Seasons season 2 starring Tina Fey and Colman Domingo, plus a stack of buzzy premieres.
Netflix is rolling into May like it is already July, stacking the month with new seasons, splashy originals, and a fat pile of comfort rewatches. The big swings: Tina Fey and Colman Domingo are back with The Four Seasons season 2, there is a fresh take on Lord of the Flies, the sports doc Rafa drops late in the month, and movie- wise we are getting Remarkably Bright Creatures with Sally Field and Lewis Pullman plus a Martin Short documentary. Also, yes, the lineup curiously lists Formula 1 Canadian Grand Prix sessions and a Ronda Rousey vs. Gina Carano event. If that makes you blink, same. More on that below.
Quick highlights (and a couple eyebrow-raisers)
If you like big returning shows, you are covered: The Four Seasons - Season 2 lands May 28 with Tina Fey and Colman Domingo headlining. There is a brand-new Lord of the Flies adaptation on May 4 that will absolutely spark debate. Sports docs are thick on the ground: Rafa (May 29), a trio of UK Untold entries (Jamie Vardy on May 12, Liverpool’s Miracle of Istanbul on May 19, Vinnie Jones on May 26), and multiple historical football docs sprinkled throughout. Movies- wise, Remarkably Bright Creatures (May 8) aims squarely at the heartstrings, and Marty, Life Is Short (May 12) should be catnip if you love Martin Short stories and archival deep dives. Comedy fans get The Roast of Kevin Hart (May 10) and Wanda Sykes: Legacy (May 19), plus an AFI salute to Eddie Murphy as a Netflix comedy special on May 31.
Weird-but-listed department: there are entries for 'Canada: Sprint Qualifying' and multiple 'F1 Canadian Grand Prix' sessions (Practice 1, Qualifying, Sprint, and the Race from May 22 to May 24), and there is both a 'Countdown: Rousey vs. Carano' (May 6) and 'Ronda Rousey vs. Gina Carano' (May 16). If those play out exactly as listed, that is a major sports move; consider me curious and watching the calendar. Also, 'Funny AF with Kevin Hart' shows up on consecutive days (May 4 and May 5), which reads like a two-part drop.
One housekeeping note: the original source mixed in a couple obvious editorial promos and an image caption ('23 Must-Watch Thrillers...', '35 Best Shows on Netflix Right Now...', and a stray 'Marco Calvani in The Four Seasons season 2' line). I left those out of the schedule below so you only see actual titles and dates.

Keep an eye on May 28-31 in particular if you like new seasons, sports docs, and tributes. And if Netflix really is dabbling in F1 or a Rousey-Carano showdown, May just became way more chaotic than expected.
