Cillian Murphy & Jack O’Connell join A Quiet Place Part III as brothers
A Quiet Place Part III will bring back a major name—and, per Jack O’Connell, bond him to a co-star in the most old-fashioned way: family.
At the Newport Beach Film Festival, Jack O’Connell quietly let slip the big character detail fans have been speculating about: in A Quiet Place Part III, he and Cillian Murphy are playing brothers. O’Connell shared the news while speaking to Collider, framing the set as a reunion built around the franchise ’s central theme.
“A Quiet Place felt like family. It ’s about family, obviously. Got John Krasinski and Emily Blunt involved, and Cillian and I play brothers,”
The sibling reveal drops a personal twist into Emmett’s arc. Introduced in Part II, Murphy’s Emmett was a wary loner who’d lost his wife and children in the invasion. He initially shut out the Abbotts before teaming up with Regan for a risky plan to fight back. Bringing in a brother suggests Emmett’s past—and who he’s willing to risk everything for—may not be as settled as it seemed.
