CBS Unveils 2025–2026 Finale Schedule — See Which Shows Are Ending and When Their Last Episodes Air
CBS just dropped its season — and series — finale schedule for Tracker, Marshals, Watson and more, while firming up a slate of 12 returning dramas after a January renewal blitz that left Watson and DMV in limbo. Here’s when each show takes its final bow.
CBS just flipped on the season-finale sign for pretty much everything, and a couple of shows are bowing out for good. If you are trying to figure out when your favorites wrap and what CBS is doing next year, here is the lay of the land.
The big picture: renewals, cancellations, new orders
Back in January, CBS handed out a batch of early renewals. At that point, only two shows were still on the bubble: 'Watson' and 'DMV'. The network has since renewed 12 dramas for next season, and that includes all four of its first-year entries: 'Marshals', 'CIA', 'Sheriff Country', and 'Boston Blue'.
Looking ahead, CBS also ordered two new series for the 2026- 27 season: 'Cupertino' from Robert and Michelle King and 'Einstein' starring Matthew Gray Gubler.
Then came the cleanup in March 2026: 'Watson' and 'DMV' were canceled. Why those two? CBS moved forward with two other projects, 'Eternally Yours' and 'The Tillbrooks', beyond the pilot stage. Translation: new shows claimed the shelf space, and something had to go.
What is hitting for CBS right now
'Marshals' — the 'Yellowstone ' spinoff led by Luke Grimes — turned into a real player. Its series premiere pulled 20.6 million viewers across seven days, which CBS says is the biggest launch for a network original without a football lead-in since 2017. It also set a new mark as CBS's most-streamed episode ever on Paramount+.
"Marshals delivered a breakout performance, capturing a massive audience across platforms and quickly establishing itself as one of TV's most powerful new series. The overwhelming viewer response speaks to the strength of the Yellowstone world, the bold, character-driven storytelling from the creative team and the dynamic cast performances led by Luke Grimes."
- Amy Reisenbach, CBS Entertainment president
Per the network, 'Marshals' and Justin Hartley's 'Tracker' finished as the two most-watched shows during their premiere week. 'Boston Blue' and 'Sheriff Country' both earned quick season 2 renewals too. For the numbers nerds: 'Sheriff Country' is averaging 7.6 million viewers, and 'Blue Bloods' (yes, the long-running one) is still pulling around 8 million and leading Friday nights in total viewers week after week. That is a pretty loud flex for CBS's Friday lineup while the rookies gain traction.
