Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 is rolling cameras and the MCU hype is surging—fed by pre-finale buzz that the original Marvel Netflix Defenders are gearing up for a comeback.

Marvel is already rolling cameras on Daredevil: Born Again Season 3, and yeah, the hype is real. The big headline is the reunion: the original Netflix- era Defenders are finally circling back. But that is not the only swing the show is taking. Wilson Bethel just teased a legit upgrade for Bullseye, and given where Season 2 left Dex, it fits.

The Defenders are back (for real this time)

Before Season 2 even wrapped, Marvel let it slip that the core Defenders team is reuniting in Season 3. That means Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones and Mike Colter’s Luke Cage — both of whom already popped in for Season 2 cameos — plus Finn Jones returning as Danny Rand/Iron Fist. It is a big swing for Born Again, and it sets the table for some cross-character chaos in Season 3.

Bullseye’s new look just got teased

Bethel hopped on Instagram and dropped a close-up of Bullseye’s gloved hand with new gauntlets stamped with that bullseye logo, plus a peek at layered black-and-gray armor. He captioned it:

"Stepping out. #S3"

He even slapped Big Gipp’s "Steppin Out" on the post for good measure. Longtime fans have been vocal about how the character has been outfitted so far: on Netflix’s Daredevil Season 3, Dex spent most of his time impersonating Daredevil; in Born Again Seasons 1 and 2, he wore a very DIY tactical getup. The ongoing gripe has been simple: still no costume that feels close to the comics. This tease does not confirm a 1:1 comic translation, but it already looks like a clear step up.

Where we left Dex (and why the upgrade makes sense)

  • Under Mayor Wilson Fisk’s watch, Dex convinced himself his vendetta against the Kingpin made him a "hero."
  • Then he did the exact opposite of heroic: his actions led to the death of Vanessa Fisk (Ayelet Zurer).
  • Matt stepped off his own grudge path and gave Dex a lifeline, reframing him as an antihero who channels that sniper-level accuracy and, let’s be honest, bloodlust toward Fisk’s operation.
  • Dex even saved Governor McCaffrey (Lili Taylor) from an assassination attempt, which got certain powerful government players paying attention.
  • By the end of Season 2, he was working for Mr. Charles (Matthew Lillard), a CIA handler tied into Valentina Allegra de Fontaine’s (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) network that nudges global events from the shadows.
  • Season 2 also hinted that Val has been strong-arming powered folks — Luke Cage included — into black bag jobs. Dex is now her new trigger man, and unlike Cage, he is not exactly going to lose sleep over it.

What that could mean in Season 3 (and beyond)

Going from homegrown NYC vigilante to government-backed international assassin? That kind of promotion usually comes with a wardrobe budget. If the suit looks aligned with the outfits we have seen around teams like the Thunderbolts or New Avengers, expect bigger set pieces to match. There is also a fan hope baked into all of this: a cleaner, higher-budget Bullseye in Born Again Season 3 could be Marvel easing Dex into movie territory — potentially mixing it up with Thunderbolts* characters down the line, just like the comics love to do.
