Pete Davidson says becoming a girl dad has upended his world — and benched his stand-up. At his Saturday, April 11 show, the 32-year-old revealed he hasn’t taken the mic in five months since welcoming his baby, calling fatherhood a blast and full of surprises.

Pete Davidson is back on stage and very much in new-dad mode. The jokes are still filthy, the vibe is still Pete, but now it all runs through baby bottles and sleep deprivation.

Back on stage in Vegas, baby

During his set on Saturday, April 11, at Fontainebleau Las Vegas, the 32-year-old comic told the crowd he has not touched a mic in five months because, well, he has been busy being a dad. According to footage shared by Us Weekly, he also went straight for the most Pete-possible bit: parenting meets porn. Yes, he really said it is weird trying to watch adult content around a newborn daughter, then immediately joked that he powered through anyway. Classy? Not really. On brand? Absolutely.

"I haven't done stand-up in 5 months because I just had a baby; it's a lot of fun. I got a little girl. It's weird having a little girl. It's hard to watch porn in front of her. I still did. I power through."

He followed that by saying fatherhood is great, which, to be fair, sounds like it is.

Meet Scottie Rose (and why the name matters)

Davidson and his girlfriend, Elsie Hewitt, welcomed their first child, a daughter named Scottie Rose, in December 2025. The name is a tribute to Pete's late dad, Scott Davidson, a New York City firefighter who died in the line of duty responding to the September 2001 terrorist attacks. If you have followed Pete at all, you know how central that loss is to his life and material, so the name choice tracks.

How being a dad recalibrated everything

In January, Pete told Us Weekly that Scottie instantly moved to the top of the priority list. The career, the hangouts, the what-do-people-think stuff? Still there, but all filtered through one question now: how long would this take him away from his kid, and is it worth it?

He also shouted out how smoothly 29-year-old Hewitt slipped into the mom role. They started dating in early 2025, and by his account she is the one with the magical baby-calming tricks and the Nanit baby monitor app open 24/7. He said she wakes up every three to four hours just to check on Scottie and genuinely enjoys all of it. He sounded pretty in awe of that.

Yes, he is already thinking about baby No. 2

A few weeks after those January comments, Pete said they would love for Scottie to have a sibling someday. He admitted the idea of doing it all again this soon feels wild, but he described the birth experience as intense and then weirdly empowering once it is over. Classic new-parent contradiction: exhausted and somehow ready for round two.

One more thing

Pete has also said he felt guilty that Hewitt had to publicly confirm the pregnancy. Given how much he talks about trying to protect the parts of his life that actually matter to him now, that checks out.

Bottom line

The SNL alum is easing back into stand-up with dad-life material, a daughter named in honor of his father, and a pretty honest take on how fast your priorities flip once a baby shows up. The jokes are still messy. The guy behind them clearly is not.
