Bam Margera is making headlines with news of his return to the Jackass franchise, though not in the way fans might expect. The next installment in the series is officially set to hit theaters on June 26, 2026, distributed by Paramount Pictures. This marks the first new Jackass movie since the release of Jackass Forever back in 2022.
During the production of the previous film, Margera was removed from the project, reportedly due to struggles with substance abuse. In the aftermath, he made it clear he had no intention of coming back to the franchise. In 2025, Margera stated,
“They have like new dudes, and what they did to me, making me go to treatment and paying for it, and then not putting me in a movie, and, you know, I had to go to court over it and I just, you couldn’t offer me enough money to want to do another Jackass with them.”
Archival Footage Brings Margera Back
Despite his previous statements, Margera is now set to appear in the upcoming film through previously unreleased archival footage. This material, which has never been shown to the public, will allow Margera to be part of the new project without participating in any fresh stunts or filming new scenes.
Jackass cast member Steve-O spoke about the possibility of Margera’s return in an interview on January 8, expressing hope for a positive resolution. He said,
“There’s still some stuff that needs to be worked out, but there’s nothing that would be better than a full-circle redemption, triumphant return, and for us to ride off into the sunset on a win — all of us together.”

At this point, it’s still unclear who will be joining Johnny Knoxville in the fifth Jackass movie. The official announcement came directly from Knoxville’s social media, where he shared his excitement with fans:
“Well a wang dang and hot damn doodle, we are starting the year off with a bang. We wanted to let you know that this summer Jackass is back!!”
