Instead of cake, Arnold Schwarzenegger spent his 79th birthday under a weight stack. On Thursday, July 30, he posted photos from a Los Angeles gym—lat pulldowns, biceps curls, the whole thing—and told fans to skip gifts. He wanted them to take on a challenge tied to his Pump Club fitness app.

“From today through Sunday, August 9, join the Pump Club app, complete four workout programs in your first year, and you pay nothing. Zero. Nada. Zilch.”
The birthday deal spelled out on Instagram works like this: sign up and get a seven‑day free trial, then pay $100 for the first year. Finish four programs within that year and you get the full amount refunded automatically—$50 after your first program and another $50 after your fourth. Schwarzenegger also said he’s funding the push himself, not with private equity or hedge funds.
The gym-centric celebration follows last year’s birthday bike video that leaned into cardio. Different workout, same theme: turn the day into a fitness nudge.
