Five years in, Ant Anstead and Renée Zellweger are still revved up and all-in. He celebrated their anniversary on Friday, April 24 with a rare Instagram tribute and a throwback photo that proves the spark’s still there.
Ant Anstead just went full softie on Instagram for Renée Zellweger, and honestly, good for them. Five years in, still making each other grin like teenagers with a new set of wheels.

The post went up Friday, April 24, with Ant, 47, sharing a throwback photo that looks like it was snapped during their first spark on Discovery+ show Celebrity IOU Joyride. It’s very meet-cute: he’s all in black with work gloves, she’s in a flannel and jeans with safety glasses, laughing while holding a power tool in what looks like an empty garage mid-car project. Romantic if you like mufflers and eye protection (and they clearly do). Zellweger, by the way, is 56 as of the post.
How they got from a garage to five years
- They met filming Celebrity IOU Joyride, then kept it low-key while the show did its thing in post.
- Fans clocked the relationship first: they were spotted together in Orange County in summer 2021, and in July 2021 she was photographed kissing him while they rode bikes in Laguna Beach.
- Their episode didn’t even air until August 2021, by which point they were already a couple. TV timing is weird like that.
- By April 2023, as they were coming up on year two, people close to them were saying the vibe was serious: settling down, building a home, the whole deal. Apparently it took her a while to find love again, and she felt it was worth the wait; he, meanwhile, was giving full-on romantic, open, honest energy.
- July 2023 brought another update: Renée had bonded with his kids and they were leaning into a low-key routine at home together — movies, dinner, the usual normal-life stuff.
- January 2025: Ant hit the red carpet for Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy with his two eldest to support Renée.

The family part
Ant has three kids. With ex-wife Louise Storey, he shares daughter Amelie (22 at the time) and son Archie (19 at the time). With his second wife, Christina Haack, he shares son Hudson (6 at the time). Back in 2023, folks close to the couple said Renée fit in with all three and that they spent a lot of chill time at home together, deliberately keeping things low profile despite the fame factor.

In January 2025, Ant brought Amelie and Archie to the Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy premiere to back Renée. He couldn’t resist a cheeky caption afterward:
