Annabelle Wallis turned the Cannes Film Festival red carpet into a baby-bump reveal. The 41-year-old Peaky Blinders star stunned in a floor-length one-shoulder black gown at the 2016 Kering Women in Motion Awards on Sunday, May 17, with boyfriend Sebastian Stan by her side.

Annabelle Wallis just made it official the glam way: she took her baby bump to Cannes. And yes, Sebastian Stan was right there with her, playing protective plus-one on the red carpet.

The red carpet moment

On Sunday, May 17, the 41-year-old Peaky Blinders alum posed at the Kering Women in Motion Awards red carpet during the Cannes Film Festival. She wore a floor-length, one-shoulder black gown with a side cutout that showed her torso, one hand anchored on her belly like she had a message for the cameras. Stan, 43, matched the energy in a sharp black pinstripe suit with a narrow black tie and an arm around her. Classic, simple, very much we-are-expecting energy.

Quick housekeeping note: some listings tagged the event as the 2016 Women in Motion Awards, which obviously does not line up with everything else here. Consider that a stray date hiccup.

How we got here

  • May 2022: Wallis and Stan are first linked after they are spotted together at Robert Pattinson 's birthday party.
  • Later in 2022: They keep things mostly off the grid. The next time they pop up publicly, they are in Greece celebrating his 40th birthday with friends.
  • January 2025: They make their red carpet debut as a couple at the Golden Globes. Stan wins for A Different Man, tells the room, 'Annabelle, I love you,' and yes, he kisses her after his win.
  • April 2025: News breaks that Wallis is pregnant when she is photographed in New York City with a visible bump.
  • May 17, Cannes: The bump gets the official red carpet rollout at the Women in Motion event, with Stan in full support mode.

What he is saying about fatherhood

Last week, Stan talked to Deadline about where his head is at as they get ready to become parents. The interview, published Monday, May 11, was pegged to his new film Fjord, which premieres at Cannes on Monday, May 18, but he did not dodge the life update.

'I want to be a good dad.'

He added that he feels the responsibility to be a good father and a good man, and that at 43, he still feels like he is only just starting to figure things out. He is in sponge mode right now, trying to read as widely as possible from different points of view just to understand them.

The couple stuff, plus British TV homework

Stan also gave a small window into their day-to-day: Wallis grew up in Oxford, and thanks to her, he has been initiated into the world of British TV. His current favorite? Gogglebox. He called it hilarious and oddly soothing. Yes, the show where you watch people watch TV. It got him.

Bottom line

Wallis and the Thunderbolts star have kept their relationship low-key for years, then eased it into the spotlight at the Globes in January. Now they are doing the Cannes version of a baby announcement: couture, cameras, and a very visible bump. It fits.
