Summer’s biggest spectacle is back: America’s Got Talent drops its season 21 trailer exclusively with Us Weekly, teasing jaw-dropping acts and the return of host Terry Crews alongside judges Simon Cowell, Sofía Vergara, Mel B and Howie Mandel.

AGT is back for the summer run, and the new trailer makes it clear the show is leaning into the big, swing-for-the-fences auditions. Us Weekly rolled out the first look at season 21, and yes, the whole crew is back, ready to hand someone a $1 million life upgrade.

Who is back and what the trailer is selling

Host Terry Crews returns with judges Simon Cowell, Sofia Vergara, Mel B, and Howie Mandel. The trailer is a grab bag of gymnasts, singers, dance crews, and a few acts you absolutely could not explain to your family without pulling up a video. Simon sets the tone early with a reminder that on this show, your fate can turn fast:

"Two minutes can literally change your life."

He even labels one audition a gold medal performance. Mel B is clearly having a blast again, rattling off a rapid-fire reaction to one routine before throwing up her hands like, 'What just happened?' Sofia zeroes in on the feel-good side, telling one contestant America is going to love them because this is exactly what the show is built for. And Howie doubles down on that brand messaging, pointing out that the talent comes with a whole lot of heart.

A standout story the trailer spotlights

There is one act the preview singles out: a woman who survived paralysis and came back moving in a way she never could before. It is the kind of backstory that tends to floor this panel, and Simon makes it clear she is not going to be forgotten anytime soon.

"I was paralyzed. When I recovered, I started to move my body in a way I couldn’t do before."

Last season’s winner and a very full-circle arc

Quick refresher: last summer, Jessica Sanchez took the most viewer votes and the $1 million. She was nine months pregnant when she won season 20, which would be memorable enough on its own, but her path had another wrinkle — she actually made the semifinals way back in season 1 in 2006. She kicked off her comeback with Benson Boone’s 'Beautiful Things,' then closed the finale with 'Die With a Smile' by Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars. Two decades after that first shot, she told the show she was finally living the version of the dream her 10-year-old self wanted. Hard to script it better.

AGT alumni still headlining

The show’s winner list continues to be a decent pipeline to real careers: ventriloquist Terry Fator, magician Mat Franco, singer-ukulele breakout Grace VanderWaal, and magician Shin Lim all parlayed their titles into long-term gigs.
