Virgin River star Alexandra Breckenridge is loving the Family Guy roast, celebrating her character’s animated spotlight and telling TVLine on March 29 that the February nod was all in good fun.

File this under: good sports taking a gentle ribbing. Alexandra Breckenridge found out her Virgin River self got the Family Guy treatment — and she’s into it.

So, what did Family Guy do?

Back in February, the long-running Fox show slipped Virgin River into one of Meg’s fantasy spirals after she tries a Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte. Mila Kunis voices Meg, and her PSL visions included mermaids, Temu, Virgin River, and more. In the bit, Meg swims past an image of Mel and Jack — aka Breckenridge and Martin Henderson’s characters, Melinda 'Mel' Monroe and Jack Sheridan — locked in a hug. It’s a straight nod to a shot from Virgin River season 4.

  • When it aired: February
  • The setup: Meg drinks a PSL, trips into a pop-culture montage
  • The Virgin River gag: a recreation of Mel and Jack’s season 4 embrace
  • Voices: Meg is Mila Kunis

Breckenridge’s reaction: surprise first, then a wink

Breckenridge, 43, told TV Line in an interview published Sunday, March 29, that she had no idea any of this happened until someone mentioned it. The kicker: she’d just hung out with a friend who produces Family Guy less than a month earlier — even went to his house — and he kept it completely quiet. Cold-blooded, but funny.

She didn’t take the jab personally. If anything, she took it as a sign Virgin River has crossed into that pop-referencable space.

'I guess that means we’ve made it into some kind of iconic, referenceable category, right?'

Also worth noting: Breckenridge is no stranger to Quahog. She’s voiced other Family Guy characters over the years, so this is a bit of a full-circle cameo — just animated Alexandra by proxy this time.

Meanwhile in Virgin River: that season 7 cliffhanger

Season 7 dropped on Netflix earlier this month and ended on a rough note: the newborn Mel and Jack were hoping to adopt was rushed in for emergency heart surgery. While talking to Parade on Friday, March 27, Breckenridge played coy about specifics but did toss fans a lifeline — her gut says the writers aren’t going to rip the baby away from Mel and Jack because, frankly, viewers would riot.

She framed next season as less fairy tale and more real-life juggling act: new parents trying to keep their relationship steady while balancing work and home. If past seasons are any clue, Mel and Jack will close ranks and figure it out, now with a farm as the backdrop for their next chapter.

That said, Breckenridge admitted this particular storyline hit her hard, given Mel’s history on the show — she’s already been through a miscarriage and a stillbirth. She didn’t love putting Mel through yet another emotional grinder and is hoping season 8 brings some relief. She’s not sure how Mel would hold up otherwise, which, to be fair, is exactly the tension the finale left hanging.
