As The Boys final season rolls out, Prime Video isn’t easing off the gas—Invincible, Young Sherlock, Fallout, The Night Manager, and more are queued up, with another big reveal still to come.

Prime Video is wrapping The Boys with season 5, but they are not exactly going quiet after that. Between Invincible, Young Sherlock, Fallout, The Night Manager, and a few others, there is plenty in the pipeline. And now their priciest thriller is finally clocking back in: Citadel season 2 has a date, a new trailer, and yes, it really is happening this time.

So, Citadel is actually back

Quick refresher: Citadel launched in 2023, got renewed fast, then ran straight into the 2023 writers strike. Season 2 slid from a planned 2024 release into 2025, missed that too, and has now landed on Wednesday, May 6, 2026. All seven episodes drop at once, so it is a full binge from day one.

Season 2 setup

Season 1 followed amnesiac super-spy Mason Kane, fellow operative Nadia Sinh, and handler Bernard Orlick as they tried to reboot their old lives and stop the global crime syndicate Manticore. Season 2 brings that crew back, but the threat is bigger, so the team is too. The new trailer backs that up and also hints that Bernard is getting way more hands-on this time. One more notable tell: Jack Reynor's character, Hutch, looks central to how this season plays out.

The roster (in front of and behind the camera)

  • Returning leads: Richard Madden as Mason Kane, Priyanka Chopra Jonas as Nadia Sinh, Stanley Tucci as Bernard Orlick
  • Also back: Lesley Manville, Ashleigh Cummings
  • New operatives: Jack Reynor as Hutch, Matt Berry as Franke Sharpe, Lina El Arabi as Celine Rohr
  • More additions: Merle Dandridge, Gabriel Leone as Paolo Braga, Rayna Vallandingham as Aparna
  • Executive producers (AGBO): Anthony Russo, Angelo Russo-Otstod, Scott Nemes
  • Directors and EPs: Joe Russo, Greg Yaitanes
  • Showrunner and EP: David Well
  • Executive producers (Midnight Radio): Josh Appelbaum, Andre Nemec, Jeff Pinkner, Scott Rosenberg
  • Additional EPs: Chris Castaldi, Debra James, Newton Thomas Sigel, Bryan Oh, Natalie Laine Williams, David J. Rosen, Patrick Moran

The official logline

"Citadel is a heart-racing spy thriller following Mason Kane (Richard Madden), Nadia Sinh (Priyanka Chopra Jonas), and Bernard Orlick (Stanley Tucci) - elite operatives of a legendary agency destroyed by Manticore, a ruthless network backed by the world’s most powerful families. When a terrifying new threat emerges, the three are pulled back into action. Now they must recruit an unlikely team of skilled new operatives and launch a globe-spanning mission to stop a conspiracy that could reshape humanity. With blockbuster action, shocking betrayals, and an expanded ensemble of mysterious agents, the stakes have never been higher - and anyone could be friend or foe."

Bottom line

After a long, messy delay, Citadel season 2 hits Prime Video on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, with all seven episodes available immediately. The trailer is out now, the cast is stacked with returning faces and a few intriguing wild cards, and the show looks like it is leaning harder into big-scale action. Took a while, but it finally looks ready to justify that price tag.
