Aaron Pierre says there’s a ‘galactic threat’ while discussing ‘Man of Tomorrow’ character ambitions
Aaron Pierre digs into his Jon Stewart in Man of Tomorrow — and how he’s thinking about the role.
In a new sit-down with Rotten Tomatoes, Aaron Pierre said the Green Lantern he’s playing is chomping at the bit to stand shoulder to shoulder with Superman against a truly cosmic threat. Framing the team-up as a milestone for Green Lantern John Stewart, Pierre called it the kind of moment the character has always wanted.
“Jon has dreamed of, in my opinion and perspective of moments, like that, where there is a galactic threat and, and here is my moment to contribute to the saving of the world, saving of humanity, saving of peace and Harmony, and, um, so it's great to be with the band and get to rock and roll a little bit,” he said.
Asked separately by ScreenRant’s Ash Crossan whether the Lanterns series offers clues about where Stewart will be when he crosses paths with the Man of Steel, Pierre kept plot specifics to himself. He instead talked about how grateful he is to have spent real time exploring the character before taking him into a big-screen showdown.
Where Superman stands
Meanwhile, James Gunn says he isn’t waiting around. Responding to a fan on Threads about whether he plans to write another movie soon, Gunn replied that he’s already started the next script.
“Already in it. I had to do something while I was waiting for the assembly!”
Gunn also noted that an early assembly cut of his Superman movie — starring David Corenswet — is complete, as the DC Universe keeps lining up what’s next on the big screen.
