But by saving his life, she wipes Gloria out of existence.

Unable to contact Kenneth, Jeff turns to his colleague Darius (Aubrey Plaza). When they meet, Darius falls in love with Kenneth. Then it's revealed that his ex is alive and well.

From there, it's all the ups, downs and shenanigans you'd expect from a decent romcom – just with the added complexity of different time periods.

A low-budget Japanese comedy full of vibrant energy and a plot that is somehow both logical and mind-boggling.

Shot over 7 days, the movie was edited to look like it was filmed in one take. Cafe owner Kato realizes that his computer screen is showing him what will happen in two minutes from the perspective of his TV, which is showing what happened two minutes ago.

So he takes the two screens and turns them around to create a Droste effect.

Kim Seo-yeon (from 2019) asks Oh Young-sook (from 1999) to prevent a fire that killed her father in the past. Young-sook does, but time is not to be tampered with.

It soon becomes clear that what never happened in 1999 has serious unintended consequences.
